Abstract. This article analyzes the genre and stylistic features of the musical folklore culture of the indigenous small–numbered peoples of the Krasnoyarsk Territory — Dolgan, Ketov and Nganasan. The research was based on documents from the Moscow State University of Taimyr Archive and materials from ethnographers and musicologists of the 20th and 21st centuries, which made it possible to determine the scope and meaning of songs in the daily lives of peoples, as well as to understand their intonational originality. It is revealed that musical folklore culture carries communicative, iconic, ritual-mythological and aesthetic functions and becomes an accompaniment in the implementation of specific social actions. When considering the peculiarities of the musical expressiveness of traditional songs, their main purposes are revealed — communicative and semantic. The inextricable connection of the northern peoples with nature has permeated ethnic and cultural traditions, and, in turn, has been reflected in many genres of folk art. Most archaic songs are improvisational in nature, which is reflected in the melody and their rhythmic organization. As a rule, improvisation songs have a small range and tonal instability. An important aspect in the musical folklore culture of the studied nationalities is the spiritual component, since ritual music is one of the most conservative elements of traditional culture. When conducting a comparative analysis of the traditional and modern musical folklore culture of the studied nationalities, special attention is paid to the transformation of archaic musical folklore in the modern socio-cultural environment: from authentic ritual forms to their reinterpretation in popular culture and ethno-projects. It has been revealed that musical folklore culture is not just an object of memory preservation, but also an active resource for constructing and maintaining cultural continuity.
