Abstract<\/strong>. The article analyzes the process of legitimizing the colonization policy of the Russian Empire in the Far East in 1908\u20131911 through the interplay between P. A. Stolypin\u2019s public rhetoric and the expert language of the Amur Expedition. The aim of the study is to reveal how Stolypin\u2019s ideas about the Far East and its development were transformed from political theses into technocratic planning embodied in the expedition\u2019s recommendations. The methodological framework draws on A. V. Remnev\u2019s approaches to the analysis of the imperial \u201cgeography of power\u201d and center\u2013periphery relations, which make it possible to treat the language of political and scholarly texts as a mechanism of governance and regional construction. The study employs discourse analysis of Stolypin\u2019s State Duma speeches and the texts of the Proceedings of the Amur Expedition, as well as a problem-chronological approach that traces the evolution of argumentation from postwar debates to the formation of a comprehensive development project for the region. The article demonstrates that, in the postwar and post-revolutionary political configuration, the \u201cFar Eastern question\u201d moved to the center of public discussions, which demanded a rational justification for continuing the colonization project and constructing the Amur Railway. It is argued that the Amur Expedition functioned not only as a means of compensating for the \u201cknowledge deficit\u201d about the region, but also as an instrument for translating Stolypin\u2019s political language of modernizing colonization into the language of \u201cobjective\u201d scientific survey and programmatic recommendations on planned colonization, the development of a market-oriented economy, and the infrastructural integration of the region. The novelty of the study lies in interpreting the Amur Expedition as a link between Stolypin\u2019s public rhetoric and the formation of a large-scale technocratic project for the development of the Far East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
