Abstract. <\/strong>The present article considers the twenty-year experience of teaching archaeology in Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical College \u21161 and Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V. P. Astafiev. The indivisibly of theory and practice is the basic requirement for classroom activities but not for massive education. During the learning process, professors use some innovative approaches, which are mostly based on mnemonic techniques. Besides, special attention is paid to the history of archaeology to make the process of learning to fulfil it with emotions. The main purposes of practical tasks here are the developing of the capacity to know stone inventory; recognizing the results of human work; knowing how to classify archaeological material and how to use it as historical evidence. Under a teaching plan, each professor works out a workbook that must be used for learning, drilling and refreshing the lessons. Nowadays field works are not included in the archaeological course at Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University. So that the course neither can be logically finished nor provide the transition to the next stage of learning archaeology. This situation prevents further professional development of professional archaeologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
