Abstract. <\/strong>Digital art is an actively developing field of contemporary art. Existing in a specific digital space, different from the space in which \u201ctraditional\u201d art exists, and created with the help of modern technology, it plays an important role in modern culture. Despite the growing interest in digital art from a wide variety of researchers observed in the literature, it still remains a relatively little studied area. The article attempts to analyze the perception of digital art by young people in order to identify possible differences in relation to the perception of more traditional forms of visual art. For this, the method of associative analysis is used to understand the meanings that young people see in the work, in conjunction with the method of semiotic analysis, the purpose of which is to identify the entire set of meanings that can be found in the work. As a result of the work done, we can conclude that digital art works, in general, are similar to works of “traditional” art in their semantic content. Viewers read the meanings contained in these works in much the same way as they would do with other works of art, almost without paying attention to the digital specifics. These results correlate with the results of a semiotic analysis, which showed that digital art works differ from other works almost exclusively in their technical performance. Also, as a result of the work carried out, it can be concluded that in subsequent studies, it is likely that it will be more effective to use the interview method instead of the associative experiment method used in this work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
