Abstract: <\/em><\/strong>This publication is a review of the collective work of the authors \u00abVisual representations of the Arctic: Imaginary shimmering worlds in culture, literature and Politics\u00bb. The authors of the collection of articles are domestic and foreign representatives of the scientific community, whose research interest is based on the concept of \u00abvisuality\u00bb. Understanding by \u00abvisual\u00bb a complex system of representations, representations, communications, expressions, visual imaginations, the authors explore the role of the visual in the construction of the Arctic, how images and representations define the Arctic and the North as a whole. In this work, the Arctic is presented not just as a geographical region or an imaginary space, but as a stable and changeable world of interconnections, as the authors note, these cultural, social and political ties in the Arctic space become \u00abvisible to the mind\u00bb. To identify and see these connections, researchers use numerous approaches and are able to visualize certain aspects that construct the Arctic space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The review examines the basic structure of the book, presents the authors, an overview of chapters and paragraphs, highlights the main methods of visual research, materials and their main results. The multidisciplinary study of the Arctic represents the basic concept of the book, where the Arctic acts as a visual world capable of opening up a wide range of visual forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This book will be useful to culturologists, film critics, religious scholars, publishers, museologists, as it presents visual studies, analyses and methods of analysis of documentary and feature films, TV series, documentary and literary sources, media and media materials, books and covers, posters, paintings, photographs, maps, installations, comics and other means visualizations of the Arctic space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
