The review of the book “Krasnoyarsk architect Leonid Chernishev”

Abstract. There is the review of the book “Krasnoyarsk architect Leonid Chernishev”, published in 2019 by Krasnoyarsk regional museum of local lore. The author is Ilia Vladimirovich Kuklinskiy. The book is of high importance for the culture of the Krasnoyarsk krai because it gives the possibility to understand the oeuvre of outstanding Krasnoyarsk architect Leonid Chernishev. The buildings which were built by Leonid Chernishev in the beginning of XX century in Krasnoyarsk, Yeniseisk, Shira village, Omsk and other places represent the development of modern style in Russian provinces in those times and also its represent the original variations of Egyptian, Mauritanian and gothic architects style in Siberian modern. There is a lot of information about Leonid Chernishev’s biography and there are many rare archive documents in connection with Chernishev’s oeuvre (sketches, drawings and drafts of architect’s buildings) as well as historical and contemporary photos of the buildings he built in the book. The book is of interest to a wide range of readers: first of all it will be appreciated by foreign and Russian professionals in art, history and architecture fields who are involved in the research of Krasnoyarsk krai culture and also it will be interesting to the residents of Krasnoyarsk krai who want to get some new knowledge about the place where they live.
