Abstract. Based on archival documents, the article examines the semantic components of the sentiments and reactions of residents of the USSR Far East to the socio-economic and political problems of everyday life during the festive events of the 1930s. The relevance of studying the socio-psychological aspects of significant events and phenomena, including moods and reactions, lies in the fact that they contribute to the reconstruction of psychological portraits of the generation of the period under study. Based on this, the purpose of this work is to analyze the reactions of the population of the USSR Far East in the 1930s to the pressing problems of everyday life during festive events, contained in archival documents, most of which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The author of the article emphasizes that the reactions of the population of the region during the festive events were ambiguous and depended on various political, ideological and socio-economic (everyday) aspects of life. As a result of the study, it was proved that a significant part of the region’s population supported the actions of the authorities and were positive, as they were motivated by expectations of an improvement in the overall socio-economic situation in the country and hopes for the early establishment of a just society. At the same time, some of the population, based on numerous miscalculations in the course of the socio-economic development of the country and the region, as well as groundless rumors and gossip, expressed critical reactions. Positive and critical reactions were manifested in conversations with colleagues, with family, during public appearances, as well as in the course of work. In this regard, it is of particular interest to identify the causes of reactions, analyze their nature and semantic components that influence the formation of general evaluative judgments of public policy on the part of the population of the region.
