CURRENT STATE OF THE SELKUPS RESIDING IN KRASNOYARSK KRAI BASED ON FIELD STUDIES (JUNE 2010)

Abstract. Based on field studies conducted in 2010 in Farkovo Village and in Turukhansk Settlement (Turukhansky District, Krasnoyarsk Krai), ethnic history of the indigenous peoples of the North and Siberia (Selkups, Kets, Evenks) is restored.  Field studies allowed to record the current state of the indigenous peoples:  their traditional economy, historic and cultural memory, peculiarities of their ethnic cuisine, ethnic medicine, clothes, religious beliefs, holidays, folklore, as well as other aspects comprising ethnic identity of contemporary indigenous peoples.
