«Digitalization»

«Digitalization» (formerly called «Ethnic processes in the Arctic, North and Siberia», until 2021) is a periodical printed peer-reviewed journal. It publishes original articles, reviews articles, abstract, reviews, translations on topical issues in the field of global and local processes of digital transformation of society. The Journal is focused on the coverage of conceptual, methodological, and applied research issues in the field of digitalization. Research conducted by means of digital technologies in the spheres of management, science, education, healthcare, regional studies as well as culture, art and religious is especially relevant to the Journal.

Aims

• to highlight the results of research dedicated to the study of digital transformation processes;
• to highlight research based on the application of digital technologies;
• to contribute to the development of research in the field of digitalization;
• to raise the prestige of research work among today’s youth by involving them in research activities and giving them the opportunity to publish their first research results in the Digitalization along with undergraduates, graduate students and the academic alite.

Our Audience

The Journal is aimed at the academic audience and the university community. Authors from various scientific fields, including social science, humanities, and engineering, whose research interests are related to the discussion of a wide range of issues in the field of digitalization, are invited for publication in the Digitalization.

Manuscripts are accepted both in the Russian and English languages.

The Journal is registered by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications.

The Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board and Editorial Board of the scientific journal «Digitalization» undertake to follow the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and to take into account the experience of reputable international journals and publishers.

The editorial board of the journal “Digitalization” (hereinafter referred to as the journal) makes every effort to comply with the ethical standards accepted by the international scientific community.

Evaluation of the article

All articles are subject to a double-blind peer review process and must meet academic quality standards. If approved by the editor, papers will be reviewed by reviewers whose identities will remain anonymous to the authors.

The journal team may seek advice beyond standard peer review, for example, on submissions related to ethical issues. We may consult with peer reviewers before deciding on appropriate action, including evaluation by additional editors and rejection of further submissions.

Originality and plagiarism

Ethical standards for publications are needed to guarantee the high quality of scientific publications and the public’s trust in scientific research.

Should be avoided:

• Fabrication and falsification of data: Fabrication of data means that the researcher did not do any work and made up the data. Data falsification means that the researcher performed an experiment but then changed some of the data. Both of these actions undermine people’s trust in scientists.
• Plagiarism: Using other people’s ideas and work without giving them credit is unfair and unjust. Copying at least one sentence from another’s manuscript or even your own from a previously published manuscript without citation is considered plagiarism – convey the meaning in your own words. Articles with an originality of more than 85% in the Anti-Plagiarism system will be accepted for consideration. All citations used must have correct references.
• Submission to multiple journals: It is unethical to submit one manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Such actions take up the time of editors and reviewers and can damage the reputation of journals if the manuscript is published in more than one scientific journal.
• Duplicate publications: means publishing similar manuscripts based on the same experiment. This will cause readers to overlook your manuscripts.
• Misattribution: All authors listed must have made a significant scientific contribution to the study. Be sure to list everyone who made a significant scientific contribution, including students and lab technicians.

Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism by other authors will be rejected. Any published articles may need correction or feedback.

Leading editors (members of the editorial board) 

• undertake to make fair and impartial decisions that do not depend on commercial interests, and organize an objective review process;
• adopt an editorial policy that ensures maximum transparency and full accountability to the author;
• protect the integrity of publications, making corrections if necessary, and issue reasonable refusals to those whose manuscripts do not comply with research or publishing ethics;
• protect the rights of third parties from unauthorized use of materials;
• regulate editorial conflicts of interest;
• critically evaluate the ethical standards of conducting research on humans and animals;
• ensure that authors and reviewers are aware of what is expected of them.

The authors

• adhere to generally accepted standards of scientific reporting;
• provide access to the data they receive;
• present original works, avoiding plagiarism and parallel publications in other publications;
• confirm the sources of their data;
• publish research results that do not pose a danger to humans or animals;
• do not create a conflict of interest situation;
• correct fundamental errors in published works if necessary;
• ensure that the articles are original (have not been previously published in other publications in their current or similar form), are not under consideration in the editorial offices of other publications, and all possible conflicts of interest related to copyrights and the publication of the articles in question are resolved;
• confirm that their publication does not violate any of the existing copyrights and guarantee the publisher damages in case of detection of such violations. 

The editorial board of the journal Digitalization establishes the norms of publication ethics and reserves the right to reject the publication of an article in case of violation of the above rules.

Reviewers

• participate in the formation of editorial policy;
• observe the deadlines for reviewing articles and confidentiality of assessments;
• formulate a review objectively and impartially, if necessary, confirming their opinion by referring to the source;
• monitor and prevent a conflict of interest situation. 

Manuscripts are accepted by the editorial board of the journal «Digitalization» year-round, published on a first-come, first-served basis. The publication period depends on the degree of content of the journal and is at least 3 months.

All materials submitted to the editorial office of the journal «Digitalization» for publication undergo a double «blind» review procedure. The review is carried out by the members of the editorial board of the journal «Digitalization». All reviewers are recognized experts in the fields corresponding to the thematic focus of the journal, and have published in journals belonging to the core of the RSCI or included in the List of leading peer-reviewed publications over the past three years. 

The reviews are kept in the publishing house and in the editorial office of the publication for 5 years.

The editorial board of the publication sends the authors of the submitted materials copies of reviews or a reasoned refusal (for example, in case of violation of publication ethics by the author), and also undertakes to send copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request to the editorial office of the publication.

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed scientific journal implies compliance with ethical principles on the part of all participants in the preparation of the publication.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word. The paper text is placed on the A4 page. Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages. All text should be in Times New Roman 12-pitch with line spacing 1,5. Margins of the page should be 2.5 cm all the way around. Illustrative material should be supplied electronically along with the manuscript as a separate attached file in any source format, except for the Word format (for example, with extention jpg).

Each figure, table, graph, chart should have a concise caption describing accurately what the illustration depicts. Please indicate in the text where this material should be placed by giving the headings: Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Table 1, Table 2, etc.

It is possible to publish illustrative material as a tab in the journal, without an article. In this case you need to give a cover letter explaining to the reader what kind the illustration is.

Text Paper should be structured. The following sections are recommended for manuscripts:
