Abstract. This study focuses on the educational possibilities of installations in museums of death and the purpose they serve by addressing this topic. Within the framework of this study, the subject of the study of historicization in the spaces of museum and exhibition centers is a whole layer of material materials-exhibits and installations that relate to the theme of death. The specifics of their installations and objects selected for public demonstration related to the cult and culture of death are analyzed. In order to identify the main philosophical ideas and educational specifics of these exhibitions, exhibits and installations, methods such as thematic analysis of the material were used, which was necessary to identify the features and main characteristics of the death museum exhibitions. At the first stage of the study, a thematic analysis of the virtual repositories of the two selected museums was applied. They were selected in accordance with the direction of this work and the popularity of use in individual expositions within museum spaces. The next stage of the study uses a synthesis of those descriptions that are derived into a characteristic of the philosophical idea and educational opportunities of the selected exhibitions and installations. The result of the study is the disclosure of the aspect of memory from two points of view, revealing the influence of the philosophical idea of memento mori: this is an educational position, manifested in the form of designing such exhibitions, and a philosophical idea that attributively emphasizes the mortality of a person and the aspect of memory of the deceased. An additional aspect of the general conclusions is the judgment of attributive historicization, which stands out on two levels: firstly, as an image of personal grief, thoughts about the deceased, who appears as a specific once living person; it is the disclosure of a personal history; secondly, an abstract understanding of memory, closely related to the idea of memento mori, memory in this case comes from the abstract message of death itself and is addressed to a person interacting with an exhibit, exhibition or installation.
