THE CURRENT STATE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION (BASED ON A CASE REVIEW)

Abstract. In the process of universal digitalization, there is a growing interest in the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI). These systems are increasingly being implemented in various spheres of life, are constantly being improved, become more intelligent and effectively cope with complex tasks. In this paper, we explore how AI can be used in education to train young people in IT and to improve the educational process in general. Therefore, our goal can be defined as the definition of modern AI capabilities in the field of education and its promising development in the future. A review of the work of other scientists on the topic of the introduction of AI in the field of education was conducted. It turned out that information about the use of AI has not yet been systematized, and the humanistic and value aspects have not been sufficiently studied. Examples of the use of AI in education are given, with a discussion of the pros and cons, including the risks. Many functions of AI in education and the problem of perception of new systems by teachers and students have been revealed. Further, the analysis of AI capabilities in various fields of education was carried out, where the following functions of new technologies can be distinguished: personalized learning, automation of assessment, adaptive education, improvement of the teaching process, predictive analysis, development of interactive educational resources. As a result, a review of the cases of AI implementation in the field of education in Russia and abroad was carried out, and a comparison of the success of these implementations was made. Based on the studied systems, it was possible to identify the following characteristics: an individual approach to learning, the use of interactive teaching methods, not all platforms are universal in terms of educational programs or functions, each platform uses generally different technological capabilities. In conclusion, the pros and cons of using these systems in the future in the field of education were highlighted. It is important to emphasize that the development of technology does not stand still and, perhaps, in a year the situation will change dramatically.
