Abstract. Today, the global Internet, one of the main components of which is social networks, plays a dominant role in people’s lives. This article analyzes the influence of social networks on the work of contemporary artists. The work of Kelly Beeman, who also has a page on the social network Instagram, was chosen as a representative practice. The main research methods were an analytical review of scientific literature on the research topic, qualitative content analysis and philosophical and art history analysis. The material for the study was the four most popular posts of the artist on Instagram for the period 2020–2021. The sample of philosophical and art criticism analysis included the work of the artist, who received the most “likes” on the social network. As a result of the study, 153 comments were coded under the most popular posts by the artist Kelly Beeman on the Instagram social network for the period 2020–2021. Most of the responses were in the category “Nice words” (93%), in which comments were devoted not only to images and works of art, but also to the style of the artist’s work. No negative comments were identified. The less popular coding table categories (“Product” (5%) and “Process” (2%)) show that in addition to being interested in Kelly Beeman’s visuals and technique, people are interested in the materials she uses and the cost of paintings, which shows the desire of viewers to delve into the process of creating works of art. When comparing the most popular work of Kelly Beeman for the period 2020–2021 (by the number of likes) with the rest of the paintings of the same period, which received fewer likes, it is clear that the comments did not affect the artist’s drawing style in any way. In general, social networks for a modern artist today act as a platform for communication with the viewer, who, through comments, shows his attitude to visual images, the artist’s work as a whole. To a greater extent, a positive emotional response from the audience was noted, in particular in relation to the work of Kelly Beeman. The very work of the artist has an educational function, motivating viewers to join the creativity.
