Abstract. Research interest in the topic of digital technologies in the life of small indigenous peoples is due to the obvious uniqueness of the situation — the clash, on the one hand, of cultures that appeal to their tradition, to their roots, to an archaic component; on the other, technologies that are the vanguard of development, world-class innovation. Digital technologies have transformed ideas about space and time; contributed to the incredibly wide distribution of visual images; both the idea of information in general and the ways of its perception have changed, etc. This article discusses the issues of how the indigenous peoples use digital technologies, for what purposes, what is the assessment of the close intertwining of the traditional and the ultra-modern.

Keywords: digital technologies, Internet, indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, decolonization, cultural ethnic identity, cyber ethnography
